(A) Network Systems Equipment Upgrade | Team 1
1- Since the weather is cooperating, we are moving forward with the upgrades at our Ramona DATV site next week. A team of six, three of which are tower qualified will climb and move our MESH-L {not affiliated with the AREDN Network} NMS Network antennas up ten feet on our 150-foot tower. New hardline replacement will also be conducted along with a safety inspection of the tower and antenna systems.
2- Replacement of the outdated, H-HDMI-RF-PETIT 2020 version modulators with new, HDMI, YPbPr HD Digital TV Modulators, Model: QAM ATSC DVB-T IPTV 1080p/60 which in turn will give each unit the ability to multiplex two (2) programs on a single channel a two-unit swap out. The same activity was conducted at our primary DATV site in San Diego.
(B) DATV 50W UHF Linear Power Amplifier Member QTH Test Program | Team 2
1- Since Jim, KH6HTV {Video} will not be back conducting any product builds of his ATV equipment due to the lost of his home on December 2021, C&E project Team 2 produced 4 DATV 50W linear power amplifiers to be use for our membership DATV home stations. If they work out, we will be assembling a small amount so our member stations can replace older outdated models. 1–5-watt input/ 50 watts output.
C) FCC Filing application for LPTV – Low Power Television Below 1KW | Team 3
1- We have filled an application with the FCC for a LPTV permit to operate a small low power television station below 1KW. We already have paid for the processing fee for this commercial station application and are waiting for the answer from the FCC. The site will be shared with our DATV Network in Ramona since we already have a building in place and has already been inspected. Its’ great to have members who have the acres and a communications shelter built on their property along with a 150-foot tower. The station will broadcast Science and Technology News, STEAM student learning activities and other educational programs. Mode: ATSC 3.0 |UHF
D) 2022-23 ECISP-TV Disaster ICS Field Program | Team 4
1- We have developed an integrated image communication support platform package for a field deployable television station for an Incident Command Post which can be used for onsite briefings incorporating RF and IPTV technology. It will have a coverage area limited to about 1500 meters.
2- ECISP-TV | Emergency Communication Image Support Package Television, will also incorporate MESH technology in its Intranet local network. Smart TV, Android, PC and Apple devices will have access to the image, data, and voice network on site. ASI for satellite link ups. Project lead; Mario KD6ILO and THOR Broadcasting Support staff.
E) ATSC 1.0/3.0 2022 Test Program | Team 5
1- ATSC 1.0 QAM is part of our CATV Coastal Access Community TV CH 1961
2- ATSC 3.0 is still in an experimental status on the Amateur TV spectrum in a limited state. Two of our older THOR PETIT’s have been updated to support the new software upgrade for 3.0 which has not been released to the market yet.
